Elizabeth Smart Found
I honestly have no idea what to say. Call me insensitive and pessimistic, but I really had no hope for her being alive past August last year. I guess I was wrong!
In case you haven't heard (and I have no idea how you haven't), Elizabeth Smart was spotted today walking down the street in Sandy. There have been so many articles written about the story that it would take me a while to list them here, and you've probably read them all, so I won't. However, I discovered one article that really suprised me. This has got to be one of the more twisted parts of the whole story:
Elizabeth Smart May Have Been Photographed With Street Preacher At Party in September
Some guy at a party last September took some pictures of Brian David Mitchell (Smart's kidnapper), along with two women with veiled faces. I don't blame the photographer at all for not turning in the pictures sooner, since Mitchell wasn't a suspect until October/November, but even then the media didn't know about him until February, when they began releasing photos and sketches of the guy. I just think it's nuts that for at least part of the last eight months she's been walking around in broad daylight and nobody could see the forest for the trees. Scary. :eek

Funny thing this. My aunt is actually a babysitter/day care tender (whatever you want to call it). She watches other people's children at her house as a profession. She's done this for years. Well, this "Emmanuel" guy has step children. His son (not sure of his name) actually takes HIS kids to my aunts daycare, and when they were first looking for Emmanuel or at some point in time he told my aunt all about how much of a whacko his step dad is and how much they do not like to be around him. They say he is a very odd and creepy guy. :s

I was thinking of something last night. Didn't they say that the kidnapper guy sometimes lives up in the foothills of the moutains??
Does anyone remember back to when they were combing the mountains for Elizabeth, and a volunteer that was looking for her... came across somebody up there. And I remember that the volunteer followed him, and then they heard gunshots and the guy they were following ran off. Does anyone else remember that?? And the cops were called in and all the heat seeking helicopters were looking for the guy, because by that time it was night. They closed off all the roads. I keep wondering if maybe that was him at the time... maybe he was living up there... and we almost had him at one point... but he got away. :? :?

And now they are saying she was his polygamist wife... In some sort of strange religious cerimony. I don't know but alot of ppl at my work seemed to think that she ran off with him. I don't think that was true. And now ppl seem to think she was brainwashed. I often wonder if the news is just putting out alot of propoganda. I am sure she was tramatized in some sort of way. But every which way I turn the story has changed. First they were picked up on the side of State street just walkin down the road. Next thing I knew they had been caught because they were pulled over in their car. I just wonder sometimes about what the news or rather the ppl above the news really want us to think. Or do they just want us to be confused.

Natalie, I appreciate your visiting the site and leaving a comment. If you have opinions about Elizabeth Smart, we would love to read them. However, this is not a place for you to get free advertising for your books, especially when they seem anti-Mormon in nature. Although I myself am not, many of the people who read and post to this site are active and happy members of the LDS church. We accept all peoples opinions, as such, but will not and cannot condone any hateful or derogatory behavior on the site. Thank you.

I saw the post before it was deleted!!!! :D :D
Joey, maybe you should make up some rules and guidelines for the site. I know lots of boards that have a rules section about what can and cannot be posted (and yes... many of them have no advertising).
